Josiah Cohen

Josiah Cohen is a freelance writer and occasional sports data analyst living in New York. He covers the Golden State Valkyries on Substack.

Previously, he worked for the Golden State Warriors as the Assistant GM of Warriors Gaming Squad, the franchise’s successful NBA 2K League affiliate. His responsibilities included player development and scouting, comprising the team’s entire quantitative department, and leading its content efforts across all digital platforms. He also served as an assistant coach for the 2023 gold medal-winning USA Basketball eNational Team. His work has appeared on TSN.ca, DIMER2K, IvyHoopsOnline, Operation Sports, and for the 2KL affiliates of the Toronto Raptors and Brooklyn Nets.

Josiah graduated from Columbia University in 2021 with a degree in Classics and a minor in History. His undergraduate thesis contrasted the exertion of social and political power in Roman spectacles with the modern NFL. He is, gratefully, less active on Twitter and LinkedIn than he used to be, and his appreciation for niche YouTube NBA content explains the site’s icon, Bleacher Report’s affectation of Klay Thompson’s dog Rocco.
